MaddiePie Creations started out as children and families and over the last 6 years, has evolved into children, families, weddings, seniors, and boudoir.  I look back at some of the images from the very beginning and I am stunned that anyone entrusted me to be their photographer and capture these amazing moments in their life.

2012 has been a roller coaster ride… that might even be an understatement.  If you have been following along with me and have been a part of my life story, you will know that this chapter in my life took our family to Arkansas.  For a HOT minute.  What you may not know is that at the beginning of August, we moved back to Texas.  I hadn’t really announced this publicly… so much has happened in the last month.  Great and fabulous things… so officially, the first thing I want to announce is WE’RE BAAAACK!

Now… as you know, I believe that everyone’s life is a story.  Each moment in our life makes up different chapters in their own story.  Some times our story’s intertwine with other people’s stories…  sometimes we aren’t real sure how this story will evolve, but with faith and lots of positive thoughts, we have to believe that great things are in store.  Be realistic and know that every story has sad parts, but also embrace that those sad moments can evolve into greatness.

One chapter of my story has come to and end.  MaddiePie Creations was the business I created several years ago.  Many people have asked where the name came from.  So before I tell you about the next chapter in my story, let me back up and give you the answer to that.  When I started my business I wanted a way to incorporate my family into the business.  My daughter’s name is Madilyn… however, when she could barely put together a full sentence, she INSISTED that we call her Maddie.  If you are a parent, you know that we end up with little pet names for our kids… MaddiePie was hers.  Now.. she has lots of pet names… and some of them depend on her mood  At the time that I started to go into business with my photography I was also making candles… I wanted the business name to be something that I could incorporate both things that I loved doing.  So… MaddiePie Creations was born.

Over the last couple of years, I have evolved my style of photography.  I have evolved as a woman.  With these changes, my business has evolved.  Because of these changes, I felt as though MaddiePie Creations did not accurately depict the vision I had for the business.

Now… let’s jump forward to the end of July, beginning of August.  When the decision was made to move back a funny thing happened.  A couple of the champions in my life had learned of an opportunity that they felt would be perfect for me.  After lots of thought, lots of conversations, lots of “holy moly am I REALLY going to take this leap of faith?”

I am so incredibly blessed to have a village of people that stand, not behind me, but beside me.  I have lots of people that remind me of the greatness that is in store.  Lots of people that believe in vision… even when I loose sight of it and have doubts.

I would love for you to be a part of this next chapter in my story.  I am so incredibly excited to roll out Beautiful Evolutions.  I have decided to completely rebrand the business and focus on the things that I absolutely love.  Beautiful Evolutions is about how we evolve as women.  From children to the exciting moments of your senior high school year, to your wedding and the natural evolution of the next chapters of your life… your babies and your family.  As time goes on, we as women tend to become focused on these extra additions to our story and forget to celebrate and love the woman that we have evolved into… so one of the main focuses of the business will be glamour/boudoir.  Beautiful Evolutions is about seeing yourself as the beautiful woman that you are, right now, in this moment.

Not that that wasn’t exciting enough… a new business, a new focus, a new perspective.  The last fabulous thing to announce… I HAVE A STUDIO.  I will still shoot on location – but I will also have a sweet, boutique, studio in Old Town Burleson.  The studio will officially open in a couple of months.  However, I am currently scheduling sessions beginning mid September.

I would love to have you come by and celebrate this evolution of my business and be a part of this chapter in my story.

It’s not about capturing portraits anymore… it’s about capturing beautiful moments and relationships in your life.

I don’t like bugs.  I don’t like stinky things.  I love fashion.  I love the city. 

However, I love the quiet of a small town.  I love the slow pace of a small town.  It’s been 7 years since we lived the life of a small town.  It’s weird.  It has definitely taken some time to adjust, and i’m not sure we are quite there yet. 

It’s funny how you get so busy you forge to appreciate the little things… how pretty things are in the sunrise and sunset each day, how something as little as a weed can be beautiful.  I was taking a walk the other day and noticed these sweet little weeds.  They were so beautiful during that perfect golden hour….  have you ever noticed it? 

Go outside an hour within sunset or sunrise… things look so different compared to the harsh sunlight during mid day.

Sidenote: this is also the perfect time for pictures.  It’s amazing the difference it will make… (note to self: show this next week)

I wanted to share with you something beautiful… the way i see it.  I know they are weeds…. but I think they are pretty.

I adore her and fall more in love with her every time I get to spend time with her and her mommy and daddy.

One year sessions are so much fun… These sweet babies are so inquisitive and have absolutely NO intentions of going along with what the adults want.  So sometimes they last an hour… sometimes they only last 30 minutes.  Little Payton did great and definitely kept us on our toes. 

Happy Birthday sweet girl!  I cannot wait to see what you have in store for this world!

The first one we headed to was in Rogers, AR.  This Farmers Market is actually open a couple of times a week and that is perfect so I don’t have to worry about how to use it all super fast.  Super friendly people!

These peaches ^^^  those are what will be in the peach pie I am making… yummo!

Check out these gourds.  This lady has an incredible artistic talent.  I could have looked at these all day long.  Some were bowls, some had lights set down in them, crazy cool!

The flowers… oh the flowers are beautiful. I will definitely be back to make sure I have fresh flowers on the table every week.

Next up was the Fayetteville Famers Market on the town square.  I saw some of the greatest things for sale. Some of the most beautiful veggies were proudly on display.

I think my favorite part of this farmers market was that there were LOTS of dogs.  Everyone brought their dog as they enjoyed the morning.  I think Henry might need a little bit of training before we can try to take him

Saturday was a perfect morning to scope out the local farmer’s markets… so glad we did.  Can’t wait to go back.

This week I bought some lemon basil, peppermint, and fresh peaches.  Stay tuned and see the yummy things I cook up with them!

Our first week has been filled with lots of unpacking!  Lots and lots of unpacking!  So I decided to get out today and scope out the area.  Of course, one of the first things that I needed to find…was the local cupcake shop!

Kirby’s Kupcakes is a super cute cupcake shop in Downtown Rogers.  I stopped in and was surprised by how big the shop was.  I can’t wait to take the kids in and let them choose their flavors.

Today I had a tough time picking… but chose my 4 and rushed home to show the kids.

We miss Texas terribly and sometimes wonder if we made the right decision.  However, I am a big believer in not looking back.  It took me a minute… but I am determined to make this a fantastic adventure.

Sweet Danielle spent the afternoon with her best girlfriends getting ready.  Surrounded by love, friends and family, the day was sure to be amazing.

Beautiful rings and a vineyard… really, I don’t think it gets more romantic

I love it when a couple decides to do a first look.  This is a time that is just for them.  A moment before the chaos of the day begins.  A moment where they can spend together, quietly, and completely in love.  A first look doesn’t ever take a way from seeing each other from opposite ends of the aisle… it’s something that adds to the day.  These moments are time to cherish each other and the love you have in that moment.

There ceremony was held later in the afternoon.  The boys walked in together from the other side of the vineyard. Very handsome!  Followed by the beautiful bridesmaids and of course the cutest kiddos ever!

Taylor waited patiently while it was finally his turn to see his beautiful Danielle head his direction.  She was stunning! 

Danielle and Taylor chose to incorporate a their venue into their ceremony.  Instead of  a unity candle or sand, these two decided on Love Letters & a Wine Box.  This lovely alternative requires only a few small items: a wooden wine box, two love letters (from the bride to the groom and vice versa) in sealed envelopes, a few small nails, and a bottle of the couple’s favorite wine. The box will essentially be a relationship time capsule. With everyone witnessing, the bride and groom will place their letters in the box along with their favorite bottle of wine.  The box is then nailed shut.  

The box is not to be opened until a special wedding anniversary (five, ten, twenty-five – it’s up to you!).  The one exception being if you hit a rocky patch in your relationship.  At that point, open the box, uncork the wine, and read the letters you wrote to each other while drinking a glass of the wine .  Hopefully this would remind you of the reasons you love each other and how meaningful your relationship truly is, and start you on the road to getting back on track.

Finally… the kiss! 

Lost Oak Winery is an amazing venue for a wedding. One side of the property is where the ceremony is located and the other side is set up for the reception.  A beautiful location for sure.

  The cakes and cupcakes were oh so yummy and created by the ever fabulous Tastefully Unique.

Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Elston… absolutely love the boots and shoes!

Danielle and Taylor: you are blessed to have family and friends in your life.  I had the honor of watching you surrounded in love and laughter all day.  Congratulations to you both and my hope for you is that you feel just as in love in 20 years as you do today.
